Rivergate to strengthen Pacific ties at Australia Tahiti Rendezvous during milestone 20th year
During our milestone 20th year, it’s never been more important to strengthen Pacific ties at one of the most anticipated superyacht events in the calendar year, the Australia Tahiti Rendezvous.
As Rivergate Marina & Shipyard celebrates 20 years in 2026, the business will continue its long-standing involvement in the Pacific superyacht sector through participation in the upcoming Australia Tahiti Rendezvous.
Held annually at Marina Taina in Papeete, the Rendezvous brings together captains, crew, agents and marine industry representatives from across the Pacific to discuss cruising itineraries, refit planning and opportunities throughout the region. The event has become an important fixture on the Pacific superyacht calendar, attracting vessels travelling between the Americas, French Polynesia, New Zealand and Australia.
Rivergate will again use the event as an opportunity to strengthen relationships with captains and industry stakeholders while showcasing Australia’s world-class refit and maintenance capabilities.
Rivergate Director of International Business Stephen Bay said the event remained an important opportunity to connect with key stakeholders in the global superyacht sector.
Prior to joining Rivergate in 2025, Stephen spent more than 15 years captaining charter and private motor yachts across the Caribbean, Mediterranean, Southeast Asia and the United States, while also overseeing refit and new-build projects internationally.
“Having worked closely with shipyards and refit facilities around the world, I understand the importance of reliability, capability and strong industry relationships when captains are planning their cruising and maintenance schedules,” he said.
“The Australia Tahiti Rendezvous provides an invaluable opportunity to engage directly with industry representatives operating throughout the Pacific and showcase the depth of expertise available at Rivergate and within Australia’s marine industry.”
“As Rivergate marks 20 years in 2026, it’s also an opportunity to reflect on how far both the business and the Australian superyacht industry have come, and the relationships that have helped support that growth over the past two decades.”
Established in 2006 on the Brisbane River, Rivergate has grown into Australia’s leading superyacht refit destination and one of the largest marine industry facilities in the Asia-Pacific region. The facility supports visiting vessels with refit, maintenance, project management and marina services, alongside access to a network of specialist marine trades operating onsite.
Over the past two decades, Rivergate has welcomed vessels from around the world and has continued to expand its international presence through ongoing engagement with global marine events and industry partnerships. Participation in the Australia Tahiti Rendezvous forms part of Rivergate’s broader commitment to supporting the Pacific superyacht cruising network and strengthening connections between Brisbane and key international markets.
