Made to Australian Marine Safety Authority certification, the sturdy, stable catamaran facilitates maintenance for the Brisbane River ferries and terminals.

It is fitted with a heavy duty telescopic deck crane, removable handrails, spacious aft working deck and air-conditioned cabin.

“Nereus” also features twin Oxe diesel outboards which provide a longer service life and better fuel consumption compared to conventional petrol outboards, and will operate at a maximum speed of 24 knots.

In 2020, Aus Ships won the same Award for the design and successful delivery of the first of eight new-generation CityCats for the City of Brisbane.

Accepting this year’s Award, Tommy said “Australia makes the world’s best boats. It’s that simple. Being based at Rivergate Marina & Shipyard is an advantage for us as it’s located on the River and there are a multitude of marine professionals and contractors on site and in close proximity.”

Andrew Cannon, Rivergate General Manager congratulated Tommy and his multi-skilled team on their win. “Aus Ships is a thriving business that has expanded and evolved. This Award is testament to their superior craftsmanship and vision. Rivergate is proud to be home to Aus Ships and facilitate their growth.”
