Rivergate Marina and Shipyard, based in Brisbane, Australia, has designed, developed and constructed a new multi-purpose vessel designed to quickly and efficiently clear debris from the Brisbane River.
“After an extensive search to find a work boat to meet our requirements, Rivergate made the decision to build our own, which we have dubbed Rivergate’s Clean Marina vessel,” stated Mr Steve Fisher, General Manager.
“Over four months was spent developing, perfecting and constructing the new Rivergate Clean Marina Vessel to not only collect debris from the Brisbane River but also to act as a sturdy support vessel to the marina.”
The six-metre vessel has a hydraulic powered conveyor belt on the bow which when lowered into the water collects rubbish and debris before emptying it into a removable basket for easy disposal.
It is powered by a 60hp (45kW) high-thrust four-stroke Yahama outboard. Constructed to Queensland Survey standards, the Rivergate Clean Marina Vessel will also be available to support yacht movements and the daily operations of the marina and shipyard. |
